Saltbush, Grey sage brush. An evergreen shrub with silvery-grey leaves, reaching 2m (7 ft) high. The leaves and shoots make an excellent spinach with a good flavour, and the seeds are also edible cooked. Very wind-hardy and suitable for hedges in mild and maritime areas; needs a sunny, well-drained site. Hardy to -15°C. Stratification: ND. Number of seeds: 15.
